Pregnant Mom Defends Family from Violent Intruders with AR-15

There are few forces on earth more dangerous than a mother whose family is in jeopardy. Eight months pregnant and wielding an AR-15, a Florida mother fought off two armed and violent attackers when they broke into her home and brutally assaulted her husband and threatened her daughter last week.

The unnamed woman was reportedly in another room at the family home outside of Tampa when two masked men broke into her kitchen, grabbed her 11-year-old daughter and demanded that her husband hand over any valuables that they had. The assailants pistol-whipped and kicked the husband, identified as Mr. Jeremy King, in the head, and the resulting commotion caught the mother’s attention.

As she entered the kitchen and saw what was happening, one of the suspects fired a shot at her, failing to hit her. The woman then went for her weapon, a legally owned AR-15, returned to the kitchen, and fired on the suspects, hitting one of them.

The injured criminal fled the home after being shot and was found deceased in a ditch outside of the house. Jeremy King sustained fractures to his eye socket and sinus cavity, as well as a concussion. “Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it. (My wife) evened the playing field and kept them from killing me," King said to Fox News.

“Even the playing field” is exactly what she did, and exactly what the Second Amendment seeks to do. A heavily pregnant woman, in any other circumstance, would pose very little threat to armed and violent criminals and would be left incredibly vulnerable. A heavily pregnant, armed woman, on the other hand, makes her a force to be reckoned with. In this case, a mother was able to safely and successfully operate a firearm, apprehend violent burglars, and protect her family.
